Research suggests that snoring can get worse during winter, for reasons including:

  • More ambient air pollution

  • Greater exposure to secondhand smoke (from spending more time indoors)

  • Viral infection season peaking

  • Winter weight gain

Fortunately, there’s a 30-second tongue exercise you can try, recommended by sleep expert Martin Seeley, to reduce snoring:

1️⃣ Press the tip of your tongue against the back of your top front teeth

2️⃣ Slowly slide your tongue backward along the roof of your mouth 10 times

3️⃣ Repeat in the other direction 10 times

This technique can help open your airways, with Seeley claiming this exercise could help reduce snoring symptoms by 59% after just three nights.
